Breakfast: Herbed Omelet

Which came first? The chicken or the egg? We’ll go with eggs if they taste as fantastic as this Herbed Omelet. Whisk 3 eggs, season to taste with salt and pepper. Heat two teaspoons of Alce Nero Extra Organic Virgin Olive Oil in a pan and pour in the whisked eggs. Quickly place tomatoes on egg mixture before it sets, and garnish artistically with parsley and basil. Let it cook to the level of doneness fold over, flip out of pan and serve!

1. 3 eggs

2. 2 tsp Alce Nero Extra Organic Virgin Olive Oil

3. 1 tomato, sliced into small piece

 4. ½ tbsp chopped parsley

5. 1/2 tbsp chopped basil

6. Sea Salt and Black Pepper to taste


1. In a bowl, whisk the egg, salt, pepper together.

2. On a pan, drizzle the olive oil and pour the egg in.

3. Before it starts to set, place the tomatoes on the egg and scatter the parsley and basil on top.

4. Let it cook, flip it into half and serve hot.

Lunch: Asian Spicy Honey Shrimp

Shrimp is food fit for a celebration. Try this versatile Asian Spicy Honey Shrimp that can be eaten as a main course, an accompaniment to pasta or rice, or as part of a salad.

Season shrimp with salt and pepper, coat with corn flour and fry until about 70% done. Set aside. Next, heat Alce Nero Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil and sauté shallots and ginger until golden brown. In the same pan, add in chili and bird’s eye chilies, stir fry for another minute. Finally pour in Alce Nero Organic Acacia Honey and Alce Nero Organic Balsamic Vinegar, along with water, salt and pepper to create a spicy coating. Add shrimp, toss and stir until well-coated and cooked through. Garnish with coriander and lemon wedges. Serve.

1. 12 pcs prawns, with or without shell

2. 1 pc red chilli (thin sliced)

3. 1 birds eye chillies (chopped)

4. 6 pcs shallots, diced

5. 4 slices ginger

6. 4 tbsp alce nero organic acacia honey

7. 3 tbsp alce nero organic balsamic vinegar

8. 3 tbsp water

9. 3 tbsp alce nero organic extra virgin olive oil

10. 2-3 tbsp corn flour

11. salt & pepper to taste


1. Season prawns with salt and pepper then coat with corn flour.

2. Heat oil in a pan, pan fry prawns till 70% cooked. Dish up.

3. Heat extra virgin olive oil and sauté shallots and ginger till lightly charred. Then add in chilli and birds eye chillies, continue to stir fry for 1 minute.

4. Pour in honey, vinegar, water, salt and pepper.

5. Add in prawns and fry for 1-2 minutes till well combined.

6. Serve and garnish with coriander.

Lunch With The Family: Penne Broccoli and Chicken

A complete one-pan meal that combines pasta, cheese, chicken and broccoli into a whole that is greater than its parts. Great for a scrumptiously lazy lunch, with minimal washing up.

Preheat oven. Thoroughly season chicken breasts. Whisk flour, milk, garlic and butter to make a white sauce. Layer the Alce Nero Organic Penne and seasoned chicken breast at the bottom of a baking dish then pour over the white sauce mixture. Add brocolli and parmesan cheese. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven to stir through, add mozarella cheese, cover with foil again and bake for another 20 minutes. Serve hot for organic cheesy goodness.

1. 320g chicken breasts, diced 

2. salt and pepper to taste 

3. 250g Alce Nero Organic Penne, uncooked 

4. 1 1/2 cup chicken broth 

5. 2 cups milk 

6. 1/4 cup flour 

7. 2 cloves garlic minced 

8. 1-2 tbsp butter

9. 1 tsp dried thyme 

10. 1/4 tsp dried basil 

11. 1/4 tsp dried oregano 

12. 1 medium head broccoli, cut into bite sized florets 

13. 80g mozzarella cheese, shredded 

14. 80g parmesan cheese, shredded 


1. Preheat oven to 200c 

2. In a bowl, mix the chicken breast, salt, pepper, thyme, basil and oregano together until fully coated. 

3. In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, milk, garlic and the butter. 

4. In a baking pan, add the layer of penne and chicken at the bottom of the pan. Pour in the milk mixture and broth over it. 

5. Add the broccoli and parmesan cheese. Cover a foil over the baking pan. Bake for 20 minutes 

6. Take out from oven and stir the pasta. Ad the mozzarella cheese on top , close with foil and bake for another 20 minutes 

7. Serve while warm

Teatime: Jam Turnover Pastry

Every meal should be a special meal teatime, especially to celebrate the New Year! Whip up these jammy turnovers that are filled with organic Alce Nero jam for a sublime taste, and rich colour.

Preheat oven while you prep a baking tray with paper. Roll out frozen pastry sheets, cut into squares, add three teaspoon of Alce Nero Strawberry Jam on the square and fold on the diagonal to form a triangle. Press the edges down with a fork and brush the sides with milk to seal. Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. For a festive effect, sift over some icing sugar. Serve warm or cold.

1. Alce Nero Strawberry 

2. 1 pack frozen pastry sheet, thawed and cut into squares (if big sheets) 

3. ½ cup milk 

4. 1 cup icing sugar (optional) 


1. Preheat the oven at 180c. On a baking tray, add a sheet of baking pepper.

2. Take a sheet of pastry, add 3 teaspoon of jam on the square and fold into a triangle.

3. Carefully, press the edges down with fork and brush the sides of the pastry with the milk

4. Bake for about 10-15 minutes until it is golden brown.

5. If you want, sprinkle icing sugar. Serve when cool or warm.

Dinner Side Dish: Balsamic Honey Chicken

Balsamic chicken elevates the taste classic roast chicken, cuts down cooking time and creates complex flavors that will have the family asking for more, please.

Season chicken. Heat pan, add Alce Nero Extra Virgin Olive Oil, then sear the seasoned chicken on both sides to lock in the juices and brown the meat for more intense flavor. Reduce heat, cover with lid and continue cooking, turning the pieces over every five minutes. Add garlic to the chicken, and fry until fragrant. Spoon in Alce Nero Organic Honey, Alce Nero Organic Balsamic Vinegar and soy sauce to make a sweat, sour and salty sauce. Continue simmering until sauce thickens. Garnish with parsley and serve over rice, pasta or a salad.

1. 6 chicken drumsticks

2. Salt and pepper, to season

3. 2 teaspoons garlic powder, to season

4. 6 cloves garlic, crushed

5. 1/3 cup Alce Nero organic honey

6. 1/4 cup water (or chicken broth)

7. 2 tbsp Alce Nero Organic Balsamic Vinegar

8. 1 tbsp soy sauce


1. Season chicken with salt, pepper and garlic powder; set aside. 

2. Heat a pan or skillet over medium high heat; sear chicken drumsticks on both sides to get a nice sear. 

3. Reduce heat after searing on both sides, cover skillet with a lid and continue cooking until the chicken is cooked through, while turning every 5 minutes until done. 

4. Add the garlic between the chicken and fry until fragrant (about 30 seconds). 

5. Then, Add the honey, water, vinegar and soy sauce. Increase heat to medium-high and continue to cook until the sauce reduces down and thicken slightly (about 3-4 minutes). 

6. Garnish with parsley and serve over vegetables, rice, pasta or with a salad.
